Ace Magashule Arrest Warrant Denied By Hawks

Ace Magashule Arrest Warrant Denied By Hawks – Social Media Sceptical

Ace Magashule, the Secretary General for the ANC apparently expected his arrest. Well, Twitter followers and those who read IOL thought so anyway. But now, a new report claims that Hawks deny any arrest warrant for him.

Ace Magashule links to corruption

We reported in August, that allegedly, Ace got linked to corruption in the Freestate. The news came when apparently, Freestate’s PPE tenders ended up with incorrectly awarded tenders. However, despite suggestions that he linked to them, Magashule denied any corruption at any level. Then, a recent article from IOL suggested that people could expect his arrest imminently.

The outlet wrote, “A warrant of arrest has been issued for ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule, Independent Media reliably learnt on Tuesday night.” Apparently this time, it related to the “Estina dairy” project.  But since then, Reuters reported that Hawks denied that they know of any warrant.

Hawks deny arrest imminent

In fact, their spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi said, “The Hawks would like to categorically distance itself from the IOL (media) report regarding the so called impending arrest against Mr Ace Magashule.” Southern African Times expanded on the allegations. Allegedly, Ace Magashule got linked to the transfer of money destined for the “local community” project. At the time, recall that Ace functioned as the premier of the Freestate.

Some people reacted to the news of Hawks’ denial. One of them sounded very sceptical. @mpha_kane tweeted, “There’s [a] warrant of Arrest for #AceMagashule. But Somebody got COLD FEET.” And, another tweet by @KhofuMoahloli read, “#AceMagashule Corruption personified Imp.” Actually, many people think that the ANC simply talks about corruption, but they don’t actually do anything to those who hold power.

Of course, until such time as people like Ace Magashule end up arrested and in court, nobody really knows the extent of any wrong-going. What do you think? Did Hawks really not ever hear about a warrant for Ace Magashule’s arrest? Sound off in the comments below.
